The Couple Who Said They Weren't Photo People
Taylor and Kyle will be the first to tell you they're not "photo people." They said it before we even started. And by the end of the session, they couldn't stop laughing at how wrong they were.
This session was part of their wedding package, a little preview of what their wedding day gallery is going to look like. We headed to Eden Gardens State Park in Santa Rosa Beach, one of the most stunning spots on the Florida Panhandle. Moss-draped oaks, the white mansion glowing in the background, nature doing most of the heavy lifting. It's the kind of place that makes anyone look like they belong in a magazine.
The Outfits
Taylor started in a white sundress, Kyle in a white pearl snap. Clean, classic, and gorgeous against all that green. For their second look, they changed into coordinating pastel green, a Carhartt tee for him and a sundress for her, and we finished the session in that warm golden hour light as the sun went down. Two completely different vibes, one beautiful gallery.
Keeping It Natural
For couples who don't feel photogenic, I rely heavily on prompts and movement. When people are doing something instead of just standing there, the stiffness disappears and the real giggles come out naturally. One of my favorite things to teach every couple is the dip kiss, and not the hunched-over version you see in every wedding movie. I walk the guys through a proper lunge so their back stays straight and the whole thing looks effortless. Taylor and Kyle nailed it.
In Their Element
They also loved just being in the space, looking up at the tree canopy, wandering the dock, taking in all that moss and water and stillness. Sometimes the best photos happen when couples forget I'm there.
Taylor and Kyle are getting married in May 2027 and I cannot wait for their day.
